Parga is a small town in western Greece in the land of Epirus, the north of Greece, full of green nature, beautiful beaches with crystal clear transparent water, breathtaking natural landscape and with architecture that is a mix of traditional local and Italian influence. When you enter the area you cannot miss the huge hill with an ancient Turkish castle on top overlooking the extraordinary Ionian Sea and down to the foothills, wherein lies the beautiful city “Parga”. Although part of the mainland, Parga nevertheless has an island feel to it. Amazing beaches right in the town and around including Valtos, Sarakiniko, and Lichnos give you more than enough selection to enjoy!

Parga possesses a special magical attraction that, once you arrive and begin to relax, can hold onto to you so that you never want to leave. Not far away is the famous underworld, which we know from the Ancient Greek Mythology as “The Hades.” You will find very old temples, and the oldest oracle at Dodoni not far from there, where Alexander the Great used to go and ask for advice. You will find cold spring water coming out of the earth. As you walk through the streets of old Parga you are showered with the aroma of jasmine flowers and pine making the air decidedly sweet.

You will discover that the views from everywhere you go are just unique. You will also soon discover that Parga produces its own olive oil as another point of interest. The olive tree forests with their olive color mixed together with silver color trees are abundant around Parga. You can watch the amazing Ionian blue color of the sea from everywhere; when having lunch, coffee, breakfast or just walking around. No wonder we find those two Greek gods sailing down from the mount of Olympus to Parga almost every year in summer: Goddess Athina and God Gianni! What are they up to? Perhaps they simply want to remind us of the need to stop, listen to nature, your inner voice and have a good time. They tell us that even Cleopatra and Marc Antony visited back in the day and enjoyed this special place with beautiful people and all kinds of great places to stay and explore. Oh yes, also Angelina Jolie has visited with her family since filming the feature film Troy, and it seems this special place is also now one of her favorites.
