London is always changing, but it still has that mix of grand history, quirky corners, and endless energy. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, here are some top picks to make the most of your time.

1) Take in the Icons
Start with the essentials: hop a double-deck bus through Westminster to see Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
Walk along the South Bank where the London Eye, Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe are all in reach. Then cross Tower Bridge and explore the Tower of London and its Crown Jewels.
2) Sports and Spectacle
London’s sporting calendar is world-class. Football fans can tour grounds like Wembley, Emirates or Stamford Bridge. Every summer, Wimbledon takes centre stage and cricket has its home at Lord’s, drawing crowds from across the globe.
Rugby has its own landmark in Twickenham Stadium, where England play their biggest fixtures. Outside England fixtures, they even have showcase games like the upcoming Rugby Championship.
3) Museums, Markets & More
London’s museums are world-class, and many are free. Highlights include the British Museum, National Gallery, Natural History Museum and V&A. For shopping and street food, head to Camden, Brick Lane, or Portobello Road.
After city views? Try the Monument, Sky Garden, or the Shard. For greenery, Hyde Park, Regent’s Park, and Hampstead Heath are perfect escapes.
4) Walk Through History & Quirk
No London trip is complete without strolling through a few neighbourhoods. Camden, Shoreditch, and Notting Hill each have a distinct vibe. For theatre, catch a West End show. For jazz or live music, head to Soho, Camden Jazz Café or Ronnie Scott’s.
Hop on a river cruise down the Thames or take a walk through Greenwich, see the Cutty Sark, and stand on the Prime Meridian. Head to Little Venice and ride a canal boat or take a day trip to Windsor or Bath.

5) Eat, Drink & Relax
London’s food scene is global: curry houses in Brick Lane, modern British in Mayfair, and street stalls in Borough Market. For afternoon tea, try Sketch, The Savoy, or a cosy tearoom in Kensington.
In the evenings, you might follow a gastro pub trail or discover rooftop bars in Shoreditch or South Bank. Add a night walk by the river or across Tower Bridge — the city’s lights at night are something else.
London Calling
Whatever brings you to London, whether it’s history, food, sport or just the buzz of the streets, the city has a way of surprising you. Plan a few highlights, leave space to wander, and you’ll always find something new around the corner.
