Gianni Sarto is a Kimono designer based out of Düsseldorf, Germany. He creates one of a kind designs for his collections using Japanese original forms as inspiration for design of the art robes. When creating Kimonos for his clients he first chooses the best of dress material, prepares it, and then manually cuts it to size. He explained, “As a designer and artist I have been dedicating myself to the creation and the manufacturing of traditional Japanese robes for more three decades now. Shape, dress material and visual impression flow into one another and so form a particular authentic predicate.”
In contrast to the traditional kimono, Yukata-robes are solely made of one single layer of cloth. Gianni recommends Cotton-Yukata especially for the holiday season. He believes that “Salty seawater, sun and body creams strain your skin. However, an afternoon on the terrace wrapped cosily into a Yukata, will bring most pleasant feelings for your body and soul.”
Gianni Sarto’s handmade robes are known for their great comfort and detail and would surely be a welcome addition to the wardrobe of those that expect to enjoy the finest things in life.
